Good intentions pave the way to hell

So if you take an interest in politics , you will have noticed some similarities between what is happening in maharashtra now and germany in the 1940's. Of course the levels of violence differ vastly, many things have changed since the 1940's . The similarity though lies in the principle behind the violence , or the justification.
The MNS has done some valuable work no doubt. For those that don't know MNS provides training for the marathi manoos so that he can be self dependent and occupy posts that would be taken from him by outsiders. Simple things , not engineers or anything of the sort , but vendors and the like .The mistake is instigating the people to strike out against their fellow indians that happen to flock to the city for a job oppurtunity that would in turn (through tax) help the state .
The main reason for that kind of outburst would be insecurity. This is also where we can see similarity.Hitler did do some good, but the good that he did was overpowered by the bad.He believed that the germans were are pure race and needed proper living space, jobs etc . Now if you go back to germany then the reason he picked on the jews was because they were doing extremely well for themselves, hence depriving the true germans of oppurtunities . So his sollution was out with the jews.
Now look at maharashtra , MNS said that the marathi manoos were jobless , and we needed to get rid of the outsiders in the state as they were depriving the marathi manoos of jobs and taking up their area etc.Well there are ways of proving competence other than getting rid of the competition now arent there.None of the other metros that face the same problem of migration have reacted in such a manner.
Well I have done my duty of stating the obvious

well, I don't think there is much of similarity between the two things as far as Mr Thackeray (that's how people will be calling him now, i think) and Germany is concerned cause I think he has achieved what he wanted.

Popularity, good or bad, is always a gain for small parties. I doubt there will be many sensible people who will agree with him. But I equally doubt if Mr Thackeray will lose any seat he stands from in Maharashtra now, irrespective of the comments he has got all over the country.

After all, we count only heads in democracy, not the mind inside them.

And the next Thackeray has made heads turn. So sadly, the I-have-nothing-to-lose guy is going to get a lot. The exact result will be out in the next polls.

its sad then because the popluarity he won was not unanimous

of course, it was not unanimous either way, though people protested mostly where they could..
By the way, seeing ur title again I got something different. I'm not sure what way good intentions pave, but The BAD intentions have surely paved the way to their Heaven, better known as 'Kursi'.

thanks .. its just an opinion and you know there are so many. Its strange cause cause they wanted to do good yet ended up doing something that wasnt even close, hence the title which is also a quote which I love

well... I'm just trying to guess why you think they ever wanted to do good... I myself think it was simply a try to get the media attention....

Have you read "Mein Kampf" . It clearly portrays the growth of his idealogy and hatred towards Jews . He had seen his people suffer and this hatred was a manifestation of his frustration . The society then , produced a Hitler . Similarly the society now produced a Thackarey .

Its true that insecurity begets things like Racism , communalism . There are more products of the society . We create them .
